Pastor David came to Napa in August 1999, called to serve the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. With the merger of Redeemer and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in 2005, he was called to serve the newly formed Napa Valley Lutheran Church.
A graduate of UCLA, Pastor David received his Master of Divinity degree from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, MN. He previously served at the American Lutheran Parish of Harlem, Hogeland, and Turner, MT (1983-1988) and Faith Lutheran Church in Castro Valley, CA (1988-1999.)
He considers preaching and teaching to be among his favorite church things. He and his wife, Denise, are avid birders, and can often be found on his day off tramping through the forest or marsh in search of God's feathered jewels.
